Georges WASTERLAIN (1889-1963) - Lot 63
Georges WASTERLAIN (1889-1963) Bearded man. Reconstituted stone. H. 28.8 cm. Note: At the age of 13, he left school to work in the mines. He then became a laborer and took his first drawing classes at the age of 25. In 1914, he was mobilized as a soldier. Wounded and taken prisoner, it was during this captivity that he produced his first works. He became an expressionist sculptor whose social realism is de facto authentic.
